Welcome to the Hybrid of Fences: The Shadow Box Fence

If you love the look of picket fences, but would like a little more privacy, allow us to recommend shadow box fences.

No matter how beautiful your backyard may be, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you want everyone to see it. Fortunately, we offer a variety of shadow box fences, privacy screens, and other privacy fence structures to protect your privacy outdoors.

What makes a shadow box fence type unique? Its design dictates that every other vertical slat is attached to opposite sides of the horizontal structure. Shadow box fences allow some visibility and let the wind pass through and help make the fence more durable.

Shelter with Style– A shadow box fence combines stylistic elements of a picket fence with structural elements from privacy fence designs. A shadow box fence will keep large gusts of wind from knocking over plants and other lawn ornaments by reducing the amount of wind that can come through the fence.

Security– Shadow box fences help deter criminals in the same way as a privacy fence. Because the slats are close together it is not possible to slip between them making it hard for criminals to enter your yard without climbing the fence. Add some extra security and style with a shadow box fence.

Noise – Similar to privacy fences, shadow box fences reduce the amount of noise from the street that makes it to your house. Use a shadow box fence to prevent noisy neighbors and passing cars from waking you up at night or disrupting your family time.

Types of Privacy Fences

Along with shadow box fences, there are several other privacy fence design options to consider:

Horizontal Board Fences – Looking for a modern take on privacy fences? Consider a horizontal fence with long, sleek lines and exude a contemporary vibe. Pair that with a horizontal planked gate, and you’ve got a combo that will make your neighbors jealous.

Slatted Wooden Privacy Fence provides a wee bit of visibility while maintaining its purpose as a privacy fence. This privacy fence even allows some airflow and visibility through its thin horizontal slats. Wrapped around a deck or used along the entirety of your yard, this beautiful wooden fence provides a private space while still looking great.

Privacy Picket Fences – If you want the look of a classic picket fence but feel they don’t provide enough privacy, this fence may be an excellent choice for your home! Though this fence does allow some visibility and is not as tall as other privacy fences on this list, many homeowners prefer this look.

Lattice Privacy Fences – For total charm and unique curb appeal, an adorable lattice fence will fit you to a T. The lattice is not super private as it allows some visibility, but climbing/flowering vines can help and bring fragrance to your yard.
