BEFORE – This Roswell home’s two-car garage was clean and attractive, but the broad garage doors and relatively flat façade lacked architectural dimension. With no overhang, the garage also had little protection from sun and rain.

AFTER –

Georgia Front Porch designed and built a custom garage portico spanning both garage doors, adding warmth, dimension and architectural character to an otherwise understated elevation. A low-profile metal roof fits neatly beneath the existing second-story window while providing a substantial overhang without competing with the home’s prominent gable above.

Richly stained wood beams and decorative brackets create a handsome contrast against the home’s brick, neutral siding and white garage doors. The tongue-and-groove wood ceiling carries that warmth underneath the structure, while the dark standing-seam metal roof provides a crisp finishing touch.

Substantial square columns frame the entrance, while traditional trim and dentil detailing coordinate beautifully with the home’s existing architectural features. A beadboard ceiling and generous overhang add another layer of craftsmanship while creating a sheltered transition between the front steps and doorway.

The result proves a portico isn’t just for the front door. This garage addition adds depth, protection and custom character to a highly visible—and hardworking—part of the home.
