BEFORE –

This traditional two-story brick home is stately and beautifully proportioned, but the original front entry felt somewhat flat and understated. With little architectural definition around the doorway and no overhead protection, the entrance didn’t quite live up to the character of the rest of the home. The prominent arched window above also presented an opportunity to create a stronger visual connection between the first and second stories.

AFTER –

Georgia Front Porch designed and built a custom hip roof portico that gives the entrance greater presence while looking right at home with the home’s traditional architecture. The graceful metal roof adds contrast against the brick façade, while substantial columns, decorative brackets and detailed trim create a more distinctive and welcoming entry.

Carefully scaled beneath the existing arched window, the new portico draws the eye toward the front door without overwhelming the façade. Its gently curved architectural details echo the window above, helping the entire entrance feel more cohesive and intentional. A warm wood ceiling adds another custom touch, while the covered entry provides welcome protection from sun and rain.

The result is a handsome new focal point that adds dimension, curb appeal and everyday function — while looking as though it has always belonged there.
