Let the festivities begin! Yes, before we know it, the holiday season will be upon us. We recommend you start thinking about your curb appeal now so you have plenty of time to create the look that will place your personal stamp on the holiday season. Here are a few front porch decoration ideas to get you started:
1. Begin with pre-holiday clean up. Remove dead leaves, winterize your plants and finish minor exterior touchups before it gets too cold and your motivation drops with the temperature!
2. If you have a square mailbox, top it off with a bouquet of winter plants. Use a wide, shallow planter and fill with a mix of pansies, cedar, lavender and rosemary. If you are feeling ambitious, trim to resemble a Christmas tree. Or, wrap ribbon around a pine garland and drape it around the mailbox. Wire clusters of bright Nandina berries to the top of the post. For a Christmas finish, add a big bow!
3. Don’t forget the front porch. Rustic aluminum containers positioned on the door and stairs are festive, especially when it is filled with herbs and bright accents like berries and red amaryllis blooms. What?
