BEFORE – A mid-century-style ranch needed freshening up to take it into the twenty-first century. It was time for a modern makeover.
AFTER – A ‘faux’ porch captures attention and enjoys unique curb appeal. We’ve dubbed this design style a ‘Porchico’ because it is a porch and portico combo. It is fashioned similarly to a front porch but with the shallow-depth features of a portico. A shed/gable roof is supported by both timber brackets and matching square columns. Part of the home’s brick façade now features cedar-shake shingles above the new roofline. The new portico adds dimension to the home, accentuates the front entry beautifully, and gives the house an overall fresh appeal.
