Popular Decks and Materials

When it comes to creating an ideal outdoor space for entertaining guests or relaxing with family, a beautiful deck is pretty hard to beat. Yet, we all know north metro Atlanta has our fair share of steep hillsides. Having built high quality, elevated decks on hilly terrain for 25 years now, we’re experts at overcoming safety and structural issues. Of course, we also design and build ground level decks. Both types are available in a variety of materials and features. We can suggest design options that will complement your home’s architecture and maybe even make the neighbors a little jealous.

Some of our most popular decks include:

  • Pressure-Treated Decks: These decks offer increased protection from moisture, insects, and mold for up to 20 years. Our pressure-treated decks are made with premium grade pressure-treated boards that have fewer knots and straighter grain. This gives the deck a smooth and cohesive look. We also offer kiln-dried and treated (KDAT) wood that is more resistant to warping and splitting. We use boards from Southern yellow pine that offer a beautiful, natural wood appearance.
  • Composite Decks: These decks add beauty to any home and are easy to maintain, safe, and durable. Composite decks are made of synthetic materials but have a similar appearance and feel to wood, some even offering realistic grain finishes. We offer a wide range of natural color choices to match your home’s exterior. While they may require some cleaning and maintenance, it is far less than most natural decking materials. They are also more environmentally friendly because they typically use recycled materials instead of natural wood.
  • Hardwood Deck: Hardwood offers some of the most beautiful and durable decking material on the market. Due to its tighter grain, hardwood stands up well to the elements and is pest resistant. The natural strength and beauty of hardwood decks has led to increased popularity in recent years. Hardwood also has a class A fire rating, the same as fire-retardant materials.
  • Pool Decks and Spa Surrounds: These options add an additional element of safety, privacy, and durability to your pool or spa area. A wooden pool deck will not only enhance the pool area aesthetically, but it can also provide an element of safety with a slip resistant surface. Our deck builder can install an impressive deck for both in-ground and above ground pools. A spa surround can provide a great place to relax and enjoy the weather while also providing an area that’s not in direct sight of neighbors.
